“It’s almost like she knew, she had been there before with many other families.  She guided us through it.”-Debbie, Client’s Daughter

With over 30 years of experience, we have come to appreciate that there are two “sides” to nearly everyone’s home healthcare needs. The rational, or practical side, and the emotional side. The rational side is all about the HOW TO of home healthcare–the steps and processes of deciding on, selecting, arranging for, and managing homecare for yourself or someone you love.

This is the side most people concentrate on when the time comes to make the decision to research homecare organizations.

But there is another “side”, the one people discover–sometimes too late–when they find themselves on the emotional rollercoaster that’s often part of transitioning a loved one from natural independence to assisted independence.

It’s why we developed our public service presentation called Homecare: The Transition from Natural Independence to Assisted Independence. We’ve given this presentation in Senior Centers, Religious Centers, and Assisted Living Centers throughout New Jersey and have received Letters of Recommendation attesting to the value of the information disseminated during the presentation as well as the work book provided to all attendees. To learn more about scheduling our presentation, please contact info@accreditedhs.com or call Cindy at 877-201-0606.

With many years of experience, AHS has perfected a homecare model that provides relief and reassurance throughout the entire journey of transition.

THE EMOTIONAL “SIDE”

Our Number One priority is to help you feel and understand that you are not the first family to start out on this journey, that you are not alone, that all the swirl of conflicting emotions are natural, inevitable, but most importantly, manageable.

You see, we have been here before, helping over 200,000 individuals and their families successfully make the journey. How?

  • All families can meet with our team, including potential caregivers, before any decisions are made.
  • We begin to get to know you, your needs, and the special needs of your transitioning loved one.
  • And we go to great lengths to share with you–not just our knowledge and information, which is in itself reassuring–but our deep reservoir of empathy and understanding for your situation.
  • Only then do we begin, with you, to develop a customized plan of care tailored to each patient’s needs.

THE RATIONAL “SIDE”

  • Our Certified Home Health Aides are constantly upgrading their knowledge with interactive educational modules we provide them. Each module focuses on the most recent research findings from the American Medical Assoc., Alzheimer’s Assoc., FDA., Nat’l Institute of Health and Brain Injury Assoc. just to name a few. By studying each module, our CHHAs are always up-to-date on the behavioral changes triggered by each disease, and how best to respond to them.
  • All our Certified Home Health Aides have received special “A-Team” training on Neurological (Alzheimer, TBI, Dementia), Neuromuscular (MS, ALS,), Oncology and End of Life (Hospice) personal care needs.
  • While understanding the disease is important, understanding the person with the disease is what distinguishes our Certified Home Health Aides. We have gone to great lengths and take particular pride in our ability to “see the person, not just the disease”. All our Certified Home Health Aides are trained to develop an appreciation for each patient’s unique personality and cultural orientation.
  • We provide continuous observation and communication between our team and the families we serve, to give an on-going and committed level of reassurance that is the hallmark of AHS care.
  • Our Registered Nurses oversee the CHHAs to assure that every client and their families’ unique needs are met.
